Where to See Dolphins in Fiji
Fiji is world-renowned for its’ diverse marine life and while turtles, sharks and even whales can be seen throughout the islands, nothing quite beats the excitement of seeing dolphins leap alongside your boat! And while you could see dolphins in Fiji anywhere at any time, there are a few places that are especially worth visiting when dolphin encounters are on top of your bucket list! Check out our featured resorts below.
Mamanuca Islands
The Mamanuca Islands are a great place to see Spinner dolphins playing in the waters, especially in the mornings. Musket Cove Resort & Lomani Island Resort. offer Dolphin Safaris at the best time of the day to see the dolphins when they are most active.
Vanua Levu
Guests staying at the resorts of Fiji’s second-largest island, Vanua Levu, can be treated to a dolphin cruise into Natewa Bay to check out the resident groups of Spinner Dolphins. Morning tours are available through Savasi Island Resort & Koro Sun Resort.
Bligh Water
Another great area for watching dolphins is the Bligh Water off Viti Levu’s Sunshine Coast. The Bligh Water Dolphin Safaris are offered at VoliVoli Beach Resort. The Dolphin Encounter takes around 2.5-hours and the best time to see them are mornings however you certainly can see them in the afternoons as well. While you don’t get to jump into the water and swim with the dolphins, in order to not disturb them in their natural habitat, the Spinner Dolphins are very friendly and aerobatic so typically come and play around the boat and jump out of the water. After spending time with the dolphins you get the change to snorkel in a very beautiful, healthy and colorful shallow reef.
