The award-winning Cousteau Resort is a 40-acre paradise located on the island of Vanua Levu with lush gardens and magnificent view of Savusavu Bay. The combination of grace and friendliness of the Fijian people makes this a truly special place. From the moment you arrive until the day you (reluctantly) depart, you will feel as if you are a guest in the home of a friend.
+ Location + Access
Fiji Link, Fiji’s domestic airline and subsidiary of Fiji Airways and the local airline Island Hoppers have daily 1-hour flights between Nadi and Savusavu. Pacific Island Seaplanes has a private charter service from Nadi direct to the end of the jetty at the resort.
The resort provides complimentary transfers between Savusavu Airport and the resort in our air-conditioned vehicles. The drive from SavuSavi Airport to the resort takes about 20 minutes.
+ Accommodations
The Cousteau Resort has just 25 Oceanfront and Garden Bures in various configurations to accommodate couples and families with children.
The individual one and two-bedroom bures are equipped with wall-to-wall wo0den-louvered, screened windows and equipped with overhead fans and a standing fan all which provide ventilation. All bures have a king size bed, single day bed, writing desk, beach baskets, robes, French press coffee maker, iron/ironing board and hair dryer. The bathrooms have Italian tile surfaces, double vanity, storage space and a separate shower. Beach towels are provided free of charge. There is also a mini bar stocked with complimentary bottled soft drinks and filtered aquifer water in each bure. There are no telephones or televisions in the bures, except for The Presidential Villa, which has telephone connections.
Point Reef: One king size bed on upper level ,two single day beds and one extra single bed, if required. Maximum number of persons including infants: 5.

Private dining on the pier – A favourite of many of guests is to reserve the pier or one of the secluded beach-side dining decks for a private dining experience. For a special occasion during your stay, dining under the stars overlooking the waters of Savusavu Bay in the company of a loved one, or the whole family is unforgettable. A staff member will be dedicated to serving only you that night.
Traditional Fijian “Lovo” Feast – The traditional Fijian “Lovo” feast is a remarkable festive event celebrated every week at the resort. The Bula Boys, a traditional Fijian guitar group, will serenade you the entire evening with their lilting melodies.
Cocktails + Relaxation – In the evening the Lounge Bar becomes the place to gather. A seemingly never-ending selection of cocktail creations are expertly prepared by our friendly staff.

South Pacific massage treatments for the soul. Indulge yourself in a haven of tranquility by the beach. In the privacy of one of the resort’s beach-side treatment bures you can immerse yourself in a soothing and restorative spa treatment designed to induce harmony and balance the senses. Relax to the gentle sounds of ripples at the water’s edge only a few steps away.

Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort offers several types of weddings that capture the essence of the romantic dreams that couples have for their special day. Renewal of Vows Ceremonies are also available.
Bula Club:
Bula Club is a daily children’s program (8:30am - 9:00pm) for children 12 years old and under. It includes all activities and meals, soft drinks, boxed juices and bottled water. Facilities include a family pool with water slide, Bula Club pool with water slide, ping pong, activities bure, playhouse, sandbox, toddlers’ nursery bure, trampoline, baby and child swings, jungle gym, zip-line for kids, cascading water mushroom (shallow) pool for toddlers, tricycles, and a playground. Nannies and Buddies provide company, childcare and educational activity events throughout the day. Our full-time JMC Activities Director plans events for children of different age groups. These include environmental programs, mangrove replanting projects, coconut leaf weaving and organic garden tour. Others include Fijian culture, Fijian arts and crafts, coral reef exploration, “School Under the Sea,” “Assistant Chef of the Day,” and the “Connect with Kids” school program.
